Hope everyone had an awsome Thanksgiving day!! Well, after stuffing ourselves with yummy turkey and the fixen's (not to mention all them wonderful pies and cakes and then some )we decided to tear into our Christmas decor. Tradition in our home as a child growing up was putting the tree and all the decorations up on Thanksgiving night. Oh, that was so hard this year! Now that the Christmas music loudly plays on the radio way before Thanksgiving, I was so tempted to start early but reframed myself and decided to wait. I need to keep this tradition (even though to some it may not be that big of a deal) to us, it is just what we simply did every year.
Ok, so who doesn't like Santa?? As I was going through all of our Christmas stuff I found these super cute little vintage Santa's who proudly stand somewhere around 2.5 inches tall. So cute! They fit perfectly in all them little nooks and cranny's where other things didn't fit right. Can't believe it is finally here again, Christmas. Feeling like a kid again and remembering the wonderful times of putting up the tree on the day of Thanks. I am truely thankful to share this fun tradition with my kids! Happy Black Friday!!

Ugly Green Chair
I saw this ugly green chair that someone decided to throw away. To me it was just so rustic. I loved it! Super sturdy and comfy. It found a new home! It gave my herb garden a new and fun look. The little black flower pot stand I got at a garage sale for a buck! Can't beat that!

Hankies
The kids and I love to go garage selling! So much fun digging through other folk's junk! There was a garage sale on State St. and the lady had a bunch of antique goodies. Found fun little hankies to play around with. They might work great on collage projects. Also found some old bingo cards, buttons and hymnals.

Be Kind
I found this fun painting I did for Lola. She loves lady bugs and balloons! She has learned to be kind to certain bugs (me, I have no problem stepping on them) but I tell her that lady bugs are Gods gift to all gardens! They eat the bad bugs!

Little Vintage Finds
I can not believe that tomorrow is the last day of school for the kiddos! Time sure flies (and so does my age!) But the kids and I have decided that we are going to create a painting (or something) every single day this summer. Wow, that will be so much fun! It is so funny how my son Forrest (age 6) can be such a serious artist, such a perfectionist. Every little brush stroke matters! Yet my daughter Lola (age 5) is so much like me in that a big pile of mess on a nice stretched canvas is a beautiful creation in its self! We look at it and think "awww, perfect"!
Ok, so I did manage to try and clean my studio a little. Our house is small so I found a perfect little corner in the basement. I came across some fun little bottles I purchased at the Pigeon's Roost Mall here in town. I love running into these little vintage finds! They make great vintage decor, but not sure what else I could do with them. If you have any ideas please let me know! Also, if you havn't picked up a Sumerset Studio magazine, you just got too! What a way to get inspired and I mean as soon as you open the pages all sorts of artsy ideas will right away take control of your thoughts!!

Artsy Toys
Today I was so excited to check the mail! I have been expecting a package of goodies I bought off of Ebay. There it was, this big box that barely fitted into my mailbox! Yay! Just like a kid in a candy store was I when I opened this package and rummaged through the stuff. Nothing but artsy toys! All kinds of art elements for mixed media. You name it, it was there. Old ribbon, cards, mail, photos, vintage puzzle pieces, scrabble letters, vintage Christmas cards, all kinds of game pieces, bingo stuff and so forth! My mouth was drooling! Check them out - http://www.2sistersthings.com/ my favorite Ebay store ever!! Thanks gals!

More Roses!
Flowers are beautiful to paint! Here is another collage I finished today, thanks to the rain. Actually I love rainy days, it gives me a chance to escape! I ask the kids if they would like to paint today and they say "Yay"! Best times ever!
